Lawyer Husnu Suood has filed a case to the Supreme Court requesting to declare the election day as a non-working day.
So far the Election Commission has been saying that the election will be held on 23rd September. It will be a Sunday which is a working day in Maldives. So far in the Maldives, voting is conducted on non-working days.
Previously the Election Commission stated that they will try to make the voting day as a non-working day, however they have not done anything.
