Founder of JP Qasim Ibrahim have said that it is a huge injustice to keep politicians in detention without any trial.
Qasim made this statement via twitter, on to mark MP Ilham’s 180th day in jail without trial. “It has been 180 days since Ilham was jailed. The trial has not been completed. What is a bigger injustice than this?” asked Qasim.
Even Qasim Ibrahim was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months for a statement he made at a JP rally.
Qasim was sentenced while he was admitted at hospital. His lawyers were not present at the hearing either. Qasim’s lawyers appealed the case at high court however, the high court did not conduct a single hearing of the case.
