President of the Elections Commission have stated that they do not want to explain the english statement they issued regarding the elections in Dhivhei.
He said that they issued a statement in English because they want the international community to understand it as well. The Maldivian law emphasizes on using Dhivehi in official statements.
In addition Shareef said that even if he does not explain it in Dhivehi, the EC will not conduct any unlwaful activities during the elections.
