The medical board of Maldives Correctional Service has decided to transfer President Maumoon home from jail.
Abdul Aleem Adam a senior member of Maumoon Reform Movement said that the medical board made the decision to transfer Maumoon home but the corrections have not yet acted upon it.
“Medical board made the decision but since the correction did not receive any documents regarding the matter they have not yet transferred him” said Aleem.
President Maumoon was arrested and jailed after he withdrew his support for President Yameen and openly started working with the opposition. He was arrested during the state of emergency announced on 5th February this year. Since then Maumoon has been jailed and also is being charged with terrorism.
