Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickramsinghe has been invited to the inauguration ceremony by former President Nasheed.
A Sri Lankan newspaper reported stating that former President Nasheed met with Sri Lankan PM and invited him to President-Ibu’s inauguration. In addition according to the newspaper President Nasheed requested Sri Lankan businesses to invest in Maldives noting that even now there are many Sri Lankan investments in Maldives.
After Ibu won the presidential elections, Sri Lankan PM called him and congratulated him and assured assistance.
