MP Abdullah Riyaz have said that once the Supreme Court issues verdict regarding the 8 members who were disqualified by the EC, the joint opposition will have 45 members in the parliament. He said that members of PPM and MDA will join them as well.
He said that even now members of PPM and MDA have expressed interest in working with them. Riyaz is a senior member of the opposition parliamentary groups
He further said that Maldives is facing gloomy days ahead and everyone is wondering what will happen next. He said that the people changed the situation at a time everyone was asking such questions. “The people have said no to the policies of President Yameen” said Riyaz.
“President Yameen’s policy of intimidating the parliament and the judiciary, and his philosophy of governing the nation with corruption has been rejected by the people” said Riyaz.
In addition he said that happiness can be seen from the faces of the people and they are sure that President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih will govern the nation well.
