Parliament of the Maldives has passed to hold the inauguration of President-elect Solih and Vice President-elect Faisal Naseem on 17th November.
The decision was made after the temporary committee formed to make a decision on the matter made a report suggesting to hold the inauguration on 17th November. After the committee’s report was submitted to the parliament floor all the 68 members in today’s session voted in favor of the date.
With this decision, the republic day of the Maldives and the beginning of the new presidential term will never fall on the same day from now on.
