Former Defense Minister Colonel Retired Mohammed Nazim will return to Maldives after his trip abroad to get treatment. He will return to Maldives as a national hero.
Colonel Nazim’s brother Adam Azim said that what will be seen tonight will be the results of standing up to oppression and say no to injustices. Azim said that those who framed Colonel Nazim will see justice being served tonight. He said that Maldivians never accepted injustices.
Colonel Nazim’s case received heavy criticism from many lawyers and even the UN. He was sentenced before the investigations ended. Even after the police revealed that the pistol had no connection to Colonel Nazim, it was not investigated.
Since forensic analysis showed that the pistol had DNA of three different people including former Vice President Adeeb, Colonel Nazim asked to re-open the case. However the requests were denied.
