Former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd.) Nazim have said that he will do everything in his capacity to sustain and uphold the government of President-elect Ibrahim Mohammed Solih.
Nazim made this statement while speaking to journalists at the airport after he arrived from Malaysia last night. Nazim said that he will do everything he can to defend the President-elect’s presidency.
Furthermore he said that former CP Hussein Waheed and President Yameen played a key role in framing him. He said that it was a crime orchestrated by President Yameen. “As I have always been saying, the police cannot enter the house of the Defense Minister without the permission of the president” said Nazim.
Nazim said that if these cases are not investigated and if no action is taken against the preparators such crimes will be repeated and no one will be safe.
In addition, he said that the people did not vote for President Yameen because the people of Maldives never supported theft and crimes. He said that the people of Maldives prefer peace and justice and are against corruption. He said that the people prefer living a prosperous and a peaceful life.
He said that as soon as he was arrested, the 4 leaders of the coalition tried to free him and all of them had to go to jail. “Even on the first day, I stated that no one has any safety during President Yameen’s administration” said Nazim.
He said that his family worked hard courageously, to free him. “My wife and brother did exemplary work. My wife met me whenever possible. Everyone worked hard. Not easy to name everyone. They worked in Maldives and abroad” said Nazim. He thanked everyone who worked to free him.
