High Court of the Maldives will pronounce a verdict tonight regarding PPM’s congress.
After the presidential elections, PPM had an extra ordinary congress in October. However the Elections Commission decided not to recognize the congress and hence PPM filed a case at the High Court.
The hearings of the case began on 5th November and tonight the court will announce their decision.
Speaking at the hearing the lawyer of the Elections Commission stated that members of other parties also took part in the congress. EC’s lawyer said that hence it can be seen that the PPM’s congress was held against the regulations and requested the court to throw out PPM’s case.
