President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent his condolences to the family of Fathimath Hilmy this evening, upon her passing.
The President touched on the late Fathimath Hilmy’s innumerable and invaluable services to the State and the people of Maldives. While speaking with a nephew of late Fathimath Hilmy, President Solih highlighted that it was with profound sadness that he received the news of her passing.
Late Fathimath Hilmy passed away in Colombo on Thursday evening, after prolonged illness; she was 76 years of age.
The late Fathimath Hilmy served in the government for more than 41 years in various positions, since 8 September 1966. She has also achieved the National Award for authoring children’s books.
