Minister of Communication, science and technology, Mohammed Maleeh Jamal have said that they are talking with the stakeholders to reduce the price of internet in the Maldives.
Speaking on VTV, Maleeh said that he is aware that many people are concerned about the expensive internet and he met with heads of telecommunication companies after assuming office. Maleeh said that previously the biggest issue was the lack of nationwide coverage of broadband internet, but now it is available everywhere.
“As the world develop and as the technology advances, the internet prices should decrease even though the investment made by the telecommunication companies are huge. Previously the main problem was lack of access to internet” said Maleeh.
