President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih has met with members of MDP’s national council and shared his view regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections.
President Solih met with members of the council last night at his official residence. According to some sources, in the meeting, the president stated that he does not wish MDP to contest for all the seats and that he will not be able to support MDP members for all the constituencies. He stated that he will support JP, MRM and AP’s members in some constituencies.
Some MDP activists expressed concern when the president held the meeting at his official residence. They stated that, President Solih was against using the residence for political activities by President Yameen and hence he should not do it either. However, it should be noted that President Yameen resided at Hilaaleege, while Muliyaage was used to conduct meetings of PPM and other political activities. However President Solih is residing at Muliyaage and hence the two situations are identical.
