Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has said that he will give the local councils the authority to inspect the guest houses.
Speaking to the press at AA.Rasdhoo the minister said that the councils work more closely with the guest houses than the government. He said that in addition to the authority to inspect the guest houses, some services of the ministry will be provided through the councils.
“Guest house owners have requested to revise some policies. Our aim is to revise the policies in a way which will not harm the state” said the minister.
