Leaders of the ruling coalition, President Solih, President Nasheed, President Maumoon, Qasim Ibrahim, and Sheikh Imran will meet tomorrow to discuss about the upcoming parliamentary elections.
President Solih said that they are trying to come to an agreement. In addition he said that he is unhappy that the parliament went into recess without passing the bills which aimed to empowered the presidential commission.
He said that he needs to cooperation of the parties to achieve his legislative agenda. “We do not have any plans to hold sessions during the recess. Even now the commissions are working through the relevant authorities” said President Solih.
He said that he will always remember how he became the president and hence will always try to sustain the relations among coalition partners.
