Human Rights Commission of the Maldives has formed a guideline on performing postmortem,
According to HRCM they created this guideline because the commission believes that human rights are undermined when people who passes away in custody under suspicious circumstances are buried without performing an autopsy.
In addition HRCM stated that the guideline was created in accordance with the constitution of the Maldives and international conventions signed by the Maldives. HRCM sought input from the relevant state authorities to create the guideline
