The government is planning to renovate Islamic Center. Speaking to Miadhu News, the permanent secretary of Islamic Ministry Musab Abdullah said that they plan to renovate Islamic Center with the assistance of a foreign party.
He said that the work will be conducted without closing off the mosque completely and by renovating one half at a time.
According to some sources the mosque will be renovated with assistance from Islamic Fund. The work was delayed during President Yameen’s administration because the administration wanted to air condition the whole mosque and since the mosque was not built for that, there were complications in conducting the project.
Islamic Ministry has not stated anything officially about the matter. The mosque has been in a poor condition for a long time now.
