Controller of Immigration Mohammed Ahmed Hussein have stated that the authority plans to allow people to apply for passports online and then collect the passports from one of the four centers in Maldives.
“This means that someone can apply for the passport from an island in Gaaf Alif. Then the person can either collect it from Addu or Kulhudhuhfushi” said Ahmed.
In addition he said that soon business visas will be granted within 48 hours and starting from February business visas will be available from Addu City as well.
He noted that Addu will be the first city outside of Male’ where this service will be available.
