Adhalath Party has stated that the party aims to sustain the coalition and to ensure that the government wins a majority in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
AP made this statement after JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim stated that they are ready to make coalition with other parties for the parliamentary elections. Disputes between MDP and JP started when MDP decided to contest for all the constituencies in the parliamentary elections.
A tweet from the official twitter handle of AP states that the party’s position is to prioritize national interest.
Meanwhile former President Maumoon who is also a leader of the ruling coalition stated that it is the responsibility of the coalition leaders and President Solih to ensure that the coalition does not break.
Leaders of the coalition accuses MDP of not respecting the coalition agreement. Previously they agreed to divide the constituencies among the parties. However MDP later decided to contest for all constituencies.
