Former Vice President Dr.Mohammed Jameel Ahmed has been harassed at a funeral.
According to Dr.Jameel’s brother Abdullah Jameel, Dr.Jameel was harassed while he was taking part in a funeral of a relative after the Friday prayers today.
“While the coffin was being lowered into the grave, someone shouted saying that will not handover even if elected” said Abdullah Jameel.
According to Abdullah Jameel, when some people in the area told the person that it is disrespectful to say such things at a funeral, the person responded saying that he will say whatever he wants.
The man was referring to a statement Dr.Jameel made back in 2013. At the time Dr.Jameel stated that the government will not be handed over to former President Nasheed even if he was elected.
Many MDP members criticized Dr.Jameel for that.
