Elections Commission of the Maldives has stated that the commission did not spend any money to launch the logo and the color of the commission.
Commission’s Vice President Akram said that the EC always begins the application period for elections after holding a ceremony. He said that the ceremony held last night was to officially announce the parliamentary elections and the logo and color of the commission was also unveiled at the ceremony.
Akram noted that no additional budget was spent for the ceremony.
Some people questioned why the Elections held a specific event to launch the logo of the commission during a time they are facing various financial challenges.
