Former news anchor Heena Waleedh has decided to contest for Dhiggaru constituency in the upcoming parliament elections.
Heena will be contesting in the parliament as a member of People’s National Congress. In a ceremony held tonight, the party awarded the party’s ticket to Heena Waleedh.
Heena worked at Television Maldives for 17 years. She was a political director at Ministry of Foreign Affairs during President Yameen’s administration.
Many former journalists are contesting in this year’s election.
