The government has decided to open Dharumavantha Hospital in April 2019.
The hospital was developed during President Yameen’s administration. The construction work of the hospital was contracted to Shang Hua company of Singapore. A total of 143 million dollars were spent on the construction work of the company. The work was contracted on 5th June 2016.
Even though the construction work of the hospital was completed on time, the hospital could not begin operating on time because some of the equipment required at the hospital were not installed on time. Former President Yameen’s administration planned to open the hospital on 26thJuly 2018. However, after that, the government planned to open it on February 2019.
After the change in government, President Solih’s government decided to open the hospital on April 2019. According to government officials during April 7 floors of the hospital will be opened.
Services available at IGMH such as x-ray, MRI, physiotherapy, sports therapy, ENT, and the dental department will be provided at Dharumavantha Hospital once the hospital is opened.
IGMH and Dharumavantha Hospital has been connected via a sky bridge.
