Villa College and Universal Foundation has signed an agreement to train people for the hospitality industry.
In a ceremony held at Villa College today the rector of the college Dr.Ahmed Anwar signed on behalf of the college while Iyaz Waheed the president of Universal Foundation signed on behalf of the foundation.
According to Villa College, since 2017 the college has been working with Universal Foundation in conducting a program called “Discover Hospitality” a certificate level 3 program. So far 40 students have completed the program.
Students who are accepted into the program are sponsored by Universal Foundation. The program covers areas such as food and beverage services, housekeeping and front office management.
Theoretical sessions are conducted at Villa College and the practical components of the course are conducted at resorts owned by Universal Enterprises. The participants are also given an allowance of 3000 per month for the duration of the course.
Anyone who has completed basic education can join this four-month program. Participants are selected after an interview. The application deadline for the course is 30th March 2019.
