Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamal has stated that MNDF has begun installing Indian military radars in the Maldives.
Speaking to Strategic News, an Indian newspaper, COD Shamaal said that 10 Indian radars will be installed in the Maldives. He said that the installation of radars will help in monitoring the exclusive economic zone of Maldives.
In addition Shamaal said that India and Maldives have a similar line of thinking when it comes to the stability of the Indian ocean.
Chief of Defence Force Major General Shamal and Defence Minister Mariya Didi visited India last week.
