Siddheeq wins the Progressive Coalition’s ticket for Thulusdhoo

Ahmed Sidheeq the former state minister of Home Affairs in the previous administration has won the Progressive Coalition’s ticket for Thulusdhoo constituency.

Sidheeq got 203 votes in today’s election. His closest contender, Naid Shaukath got 136 votes. In addition, Adam Iyaz got 78 votes while Fathimath Shamnaaz Ali got 2 votes.

While the Progressive coalition is running for this seat, former President Maumoon’s MRM and MDP are also contesting for the same seat.

The sitting MP for the constituency is Mohammed Waheed Ibrahim who is a close associate of former President Maumoon. He will be contesting this time as well.

The parliamentary election will be held in April 2019.
