Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has stated that swimming is the most suitable sport for Maldivians. He noted that the land area of Maldives is smaller than the sea and that he will try to promote the sport in the Maldives.
The minister made this statement while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Baa Crawl event organized by Swim Maldives. This is the longest endurance activity held in the Maldives so far.
Participants of the event swam to 23 different islands in Baa Atoll.
Speaking at the ceremony Minister Ali Waheed said that different types of tourism will be promoted in the future.
