Ahmed Mausoom the chairman of Maldives Water and Sewerage Company MWSC, has been asked to stay home.
In the investigative report conducted by the Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives regarding MMPRC’s embezzlement case, it shows that two companies of which Mausoom is a shareholder received over 6.1 million dollars. Since the authorities are investigating the matter he has been asked to stay home.
Mausoom is a close associate of former President Nasheed and also the former deputy chairperson of MDP.
He is the third state official to be suspended over the matter. Last week the president suspended Youth Minister Ahmed Mahloof and state minister for Planning, Akram Kamaaluhdheen.
