Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has started discussions with the government of India to increase accessibility for Indian tourists to visit destinations in all regions of the Maldives.
Minister Ali Waheed is India on an official visit with mayors and presidents of city and island councils. They met with the Indian Tourism Minister during the visit.
Mayor of Addu City Abdulla Sodiq, capital Male' city mayor Shifa Mohamed as well as president of Kulhudhuffushi council and Fuvahmulah city mayor participated in the meeting.
According to Tourism Ministry, they discussed on collaborating to develop tourism in the Maldives.
Records show that over 90,000 Indian tourists visited Maldives last year.
