Housing Minister Athifa Shukoor has stated that the government has decided to change the structure of the flats in the 7000 flats project launched by President Yameen’s administration.
She said that as a result of the structural change, only 3588 flats will be completed this year.
Speaking at the parliament today the minister said that the government will begin developing another 4000 flats this year.
The minister said that this issue arose because some of the apartments were too small and hence the government decided to combine some of the apartments to change two room apartments to three room apartments.
