President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih has stated that the Maafushi land reclamation project will commence in the 2nd quarter of this year.
Speaking at an event held at Maafushi to mark International Women’s Day, the president said that the government has many plans to develop the Guraidhoo constituency.
He said that Maafushi has a large share of the Maldivian economy and also since the island faces shortage of land, the government will begin a land reclamation project within the 2nd quarter of this year.
President Solih said that his government will also conduct land reclamation projects in Guraidhoo and also announce the development of sewage system of K.Gulhi in the coming week.
