Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has stated that he will not support candidates of PPM and PNC in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He tweeted saying that he took an oath to be loyal to the people, country and President Solih. He said that hence he will not abandon the members of JP, AP, MDP and MRM who sacrificed in the reform movement and support PPM members in the election.
He also vowed to defend the government.
The minister made this statement soon after JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim announced that JP will support PPM/PNC candidates in some constituencies. Minister Ali Waheed is the president of JP and got his position in the cabinet through a slot of JP.
