Islamic Ministry of Maldives has stated that Zakat al Fitr will be accepted starting from the second day of Ramadan.
A statement by the ministry states that the ministry will accept zakat from Male’ area from 2nd till 29th of Ramadan from 0915 hours till 1300 hours. In Villimale’ fitr zakat will be accepted from the City Council’s office in the island.
In Hulhumale’ the zakat will be accepted from the community center and in other islands it will be organized by the local councils according to the ministry.
