The revenue from imports and exports have increased in October 2019 compared to October 2018.
According to statistics published by Maldives Customs Service, the government earned a revenue of 288 million Rufiyaa in October 2019. In the same period of 2018, the government earned 287 million Rufiyaa. This is an increase of 0.37 percent.
Customs statistics shows that in October 2019, goods worth MVR 4.2 billion was imported to Maldives while in the same period of 2018 the figure was 3.8 billion. Last month most goods were imported from UAE.
Meanwhile in October 2019 good worth MVR 298 million was exported from Maldives. This is an increase of 16 percent compared to last year’s MVR 257 million. Most goods were exported to Thailand last month and majority of the exported good consisted of fish.
