Japanese government hands over fire engine and equipment NDMA

Japanese government has handed over a fire engine and other equipment to National Disaster Management Authority of Maldives. 

The Japanese government donated a fire engine, breathing apparatus, and a thermal camera. The total value of these equipment is 1.3 million Rufiyaa.

The government of Japan handed over this equipment to NDMA in a ceremony held at Kalhuthuhkalakoshi yesterday. Defence Minister Mariya Didi accepted it on behalf of NDMA while Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Keiko Yanai handed it on behalf of Japan. 

The items donated by Japan will improve the capacity of NDMA and help to improve the efficiency of fire and rescue operations.
