Maldives Meteorological Service says active south west monsoon is expected over the Maldives area next four days beginning 17th July.
It said southwest monsoon set to strengthen bringing strong winds, rough seas and fairly widespread rain over the country the next four days.
It said all sea farers and the general public are advised to stay updated with the latest forecasts and alerts by the Met office.
It also urging the public not to embark on a sea journey during this period unless necessary.
