Minister of Social and Family Development Aishath Shiham has held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China to Maldives Kong Xianhua.
At the call held Wednesday at the Ministry of Social and Family Development, Minister Shiham and Ambassador Kong Xianhua discussed ways to further strengthen relations between China and the Maldives in the future, identifying areas where further Chinese assistance is needed.
Aishath Shiham is also reported to have praised the rich cultural heritage of China, which she said is the main reason the social fabric of China remains largely intact. And she thanked the Ambassador for the strong bonds of friendship between China and the Maldives.
Ambassador Kong Xianhua is reported to have offered assurances that that these close bonds will be maintained in the future as well, and that China will continue to help Maldives to attain further development.
