President Muizzu Concludes Visit to North Ari Atoll with Major Development Announcements

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu returned to Malé on Thursday after completing a three-day visit to eight inhabited islands of North Ari Atoll (Alifu Alifu). The President was joined by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), engaging directly with councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDCs), and residents to address local concerns and unveil new projects.

Thoddoo

Announced that the 30-bed health centre will be upgraded to a hospital with an operating theatre and ICU.

Launched the sewerage system and signed agreements for school infrastructure and the southern bridge.

Confirmed road development, football stadium lighting, fitness/recreation centre, and outdoor gym.

Announced establishment of MNU Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science.

Inaugurated BML USD ATM service, laid foundation stones for the BML branch, council office, and police station.

Revealed that scheduled seaplane services with a dedicated platform will begin in February 2025.
