The Maldives has welcomed an impressive 1,923,496 tourists so far this year, marking a strong 9.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment confirmed this surge as of 15 November, underscoring the Maldives’ enduring appeal as a world-class travel destination.
This year’s total stands well above the 1,750,249 arrivals recorded during the same period last year, reflecting continued momentum in the country’s vital tourism sector. On average, the Maldives is now seeing 6,437 arrivals per day.

- China – 303,035 visitors
- Russia – 242,542 visitors
- United Kingdom – 171,213 visitors
- Germany – 144,278 visitors
- Italy – 125,582 visitors
These figures highlight a strong and diverse mix of global travellers driving the growth.
Luxury tourism continues to dominate, with 73.7% of visitors choosing resort stays. Guesthouses attracted 21.5%, while hotels accounted for 2.6% of accommodation choices.
To meet the rising demand, the Maldives now offers 1,295 operational tourist accommodations with a total capacity of 66,235 beds. This includes:
- 44,247 resort beds
- 16,068 guesthouse beds
- 3,322 safari beds
- 2,598 hotel beds
Together, these options ensure a wide range of accommodation for travelers of all preferences.
