Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim has said that that the Jumhooree Party will always advocate for the rights of the people.
Gasim Ibrahim made this remark speaking at last night’s rally held by Jumhooree Party and Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
He said that the government is trying to intimidate him by destroying his investments when he voiced out against the government for depriving the people of their basic rights. He said that he believes that he will get justice eventually.
Gasim stated that the Tourism Minister Adheeb’s accusations that Villa Group has not been paying the lease for three islands is a lie. “We have been regularly paying as per the lease agreements,” he said.
He said he is not concerned with the allegations made by the Tourism Minister Adheeb. He said that the courts of law will judge between them.
“Adheeb is also a person who took an oath. It is not correct to lie and try to deceive the people. The courts will tell how much he has been lying. If you cannot fulfill your oath then my advice is to resign from your post immediately,” he said.
Gasim said that everything should be done within the confines of the constitution. He said that amendments to the constitutions should also be brought following the regulations set by the constitution.
