Thousands hold a march in defence of constitution
Thousands of people packed down near Dharubaaruge and held a march on the streets of Male’ in defence of the constitution.

The march was commenced near Dharubaaruge at 8:00. It was organized by Jumhooree Party and Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

The participants of the march voiced out that the government has lost the support of the people. They stated that the current government is a government governing by other than the constitution.

The people called out that the people of Maldives wants a government that governs according to the constitution.

The participants of the march raised concern regarding the lack of establishment of justice in Maldives and the arrest of former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim.

They also stated that the undue influence put on the judiciary should be stopped immediately.

Mid-Henveiru constituency MP, Ali Azim said that the right to peaceful assembly is also deprived from the people. He said that the current government is cunning and deceitful.
