Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Dr. Hussein Rasheed has breached the constitution more than 50 times.
Dr. Hussein said that this is in addition to the steps and decisions of the government against the spirit of the constitution.
“I am speaking about clear breaches of the constitution and rule of law. Some of it have been exposed by the opposition. The President should respond to these issues,” he said.
In this regard, Dr. Hussein noted the issue of sacking the Auditor General, the Chief Justice and other judges of the Supreme Court.
In addition to this, the Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party stated that the people are today forced to come out to the streets because of these actions of the government.
He said that the opposition and the people have nothing personal against President Yameen. He said that their only purpose is to make the government accountable and responsible for these breaches of the constitution.
He said that the government should stop taking these calls by the opposition to hold the government accountable as jokes. He said that a democratic government will consider these calls and correct them.
