High Court upholds Criminal Court decision against Nazim
The High Court has issued verdict to uphold the Criminal Court decision against former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim.

The High Court rejected the appeal of the Criminal Court decision by Nazim and stated that the decision by the Criminal Court to remand him in custody was justified.

On behalf of Nazim his legal team appealed his arrest and the remand period set by the Criminal Court.

Lead Attorney from Nazim’s legal team, Maumoon Hameed said that the judge listened to both sides very keenly during the last hearing. He said that a press conference will be held soon to give more details on the case.

Nazim as usual showed no sign of frustration but was smiling the whole time. He said that his legal team will speak to the media on his behalf regarding the case.

Maumoon Hameed said that they will appeal the verdict of the High Court in the Supreme Court, after the High Court seconded the Criminal Court's decision.

"We will submit the case to the Supreme Court in the coming week," he added.
