People want justice and basic rights- Gasim
Jumhooree Party Leader Gasim Ibrahim has said that the people want justice to be established and to grant them their basic rights.

He made this remark speaking to VTV at last night’s “Maldivians, in defence of the constitution” march.

Gasim said that that justice should be established to maintain the stability of the nation. He said that the independent institutions should be free from any undue political influence.

Gasim said that the participation of thousands of people during last night’s march shows how much the people want the government to give them their rights.

“The people are demonstrating and protesting against all forms of oppression. They don’t want any person to be oppressed and harassed,” he said.

In addition to this, the Jumhooree Party leader said that the legal status of the government is now lost. He said that the best option for President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is to resign immediately.
