AP takes back their support for the govt
Adhaalath Party has taken back their support for the current government of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

This was announced in a press release issued following a meeting of the Shura council of the Adhaalath Party.

Adhaalath Party stated that the party had supported President Abdulla Yameen during the election of 2013 however in recent days the government has been involved in corruption, injustices and oppression against the people.

The party said that the government has taken advantage of the trust the people had for the government and violated the civil rights and liberties of the people.

Adhaalath Party stated that they decided to take back their support when the government is trying to unify the powers of state.

The party noted that their attempts to rectify these problems of the government through official channels and also non officially was in vain. The party stated that they believe that there is nothing more that can be done from within the government to correct these issues.
