President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla has said that the Adhaalath Party decided to withdraw their support for the current administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom with the support of 84 percent members of the Shura council of the party.
Sheikh Imran said that the actions of the government have undermined the judiciary and is destroying it. He said that this has been discussed within the Shura council for the past three weeks.
Sheikh Imran said that the party members in government positions will respect the decision of the party. He said that he is very certain and hopeful of it.
Although Adhaalath Party did not make any conditions to support the current government, some members of the party were given political positions.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is a member of the Adhaalath Party.
