At the Seventh Sitting of the First Session of the People’s Majlis held today the Bill on Amendment to the Political Parties Act (Act No. 4/2013), tabled on behalf of the Government by Hon. Azhan Fahmy, MP for Maavah, was accepted for Majlis consideration.
Forty seven members voted unanimously in favour of accepting the Bill, and there were five abstentions. The Bill was sent to the Committee on Independent Institutions for review.
Twenty Members spoke during debate time allocated for the Bill at today’s Sitting.
The People’s Majlis will meet again at 09:00 hrs on 17 March 2015.
