Jumhooree Party’s Secretary General Ahmed Sameer has said that two people have been killed and murdered in a row and the government is celebrating the deaths with fireworks.
He said that the government is trying to brush the truth under the rug to deceive the people regarding the reality. He said that the people are living in terror and fear in the Maldivian society today.
Sameer said that murders and violent crimes are on the rise and the government does not seem to show any concern.
“It is easier to say on the tongue. Two people have been killed. Lily Store godown has been burn down,” he said.
He noted that everyone will have a family and therefore every sadness that is suffered by one person will be suffered by many.
“A man has been killed in broad day light. The population is only 200 people. Imagine the people living in that island. 12 people have been killed within an year,” he said.
Sameer said that the government is too busy with their PR works and concealing the reality then be concerned with real issues such as the rise in violent crimes and murders.
