Head of Police Internal Security, Hussein Adam has denied any information regarding the raid operation conducted at the residence of former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim at G. Enif.
As a witness on behalf of Nazim, he said at yesterday’s hearing of the trial that he complained to the Commissioner of Police Hussein Waheed regarding the matter and the Commissioner stated that he does not have to know everything that is conducted by the Police.
Hussein Adam said that regardless of the reply of the Commissioner of Police he believes that he has a right to know details regarding any such operations because of his post.
He said that the Commissioner ordered to prepare the SWAT team four days prior to the operation. However during the night of the operation he was not given any details whatsoever.
However, the leading officer of the swat team who conducted the search raid said that they conducted the operation based on a tip they received that there are weapons stored at the residence.
He stated that they were tipped off regarding the matter by an individual from the public.
