Former President of MDP and also Jumhooree Party, Dr. Ibrahim Didi has been arrested.
Police media official stated that Dr Didi was detained regarding an ongoing case, however the officer did not provide further details of the case.
He said that he was apprehended under a court warrant.
Dr. Didi was also arrested previously on February 27th in a mass protest held by MDP and Jumhooree Party. Criminal Court gave a 10 day remand period the following day of the arrest.
He was later released after spending ten days in Dhoonidhoo detention center on the condition of not participating in any protest for one month period.
During Monday night’s rally, Dr. Didi said that such conditions infringed on his basic rights and that neither the state nor the judiciary can impose such a condition. He added that this movement cannot be stopped.
